King’s Gardens & Pools Crafts a Vibrant Tiered Country Garden

King’s Gardens and Pools transforms a Surf Coast property into a timeless retreat with tiered lawns, vibrant plantings, and sweeping vistas.
A lush, modern country garden designed by King’s Gardens & Pools in Surf Coast, Victoria, featuring a glass-fenced swimming pool surrounded by sun loungers and umbrellas, vibrant perennial flower beds in the foreground, manicured lawns, and a contemporary single-story home with a covered patio and natural stone detailing, all set against a backdrop of mature native trees.

On Victoria’s windswept Surf Coast, King’s Gardens and Pools transforms a rural property into a timeless country retreat.

Exemplifying a blend of structural precision and naturalistic charm, the landscape strikes a balance between bold earthworks and soft, immersive planting design.

A curved lawn path borders a densely planted perennial garden filled with vibrant purple and white flowering plants, ornamental grasses, and layered textures. Natural stone steps are integrated into the slope, and the backdrop features mature native trees and rolling hills under soft afternoon light.

The garden objectives were both straightforward and aspirational: create a lasting, elegant outdoor setting that harmonizes with the rolling terrain while offering seasonal vibrancy and daily functionality.

The result is a meticulously crafted three-tiered garden that combines sweeping lawns, colorful perennial beds, and expertly framed vistas that draw the eye across the rural landscape.

A terraced garden path features rustic timber steps filled with low-growing groundcover, bordered by silvery foliage and colorful perennial plantings in shades of purple, pink, and lavender. The path ascends to a lawn with a large weathered ceramic pot, while tall ornamental grasses and blooming flowers frame the view against a backdrop of native trees and rolling hills.

At the heart of this project lies a strong design-build synergy. King’s Gardens & Pools approached the sloping site with a foundational strategy—starting with extensive site works.

Retaining walls were constructed to define the terraced levels and to subtly manage grade transitions, simultaneously introducing structure and rhythm to the layout.

Behind the scenes, thoughtful infrastructure was integrated—drainage systems, soil conditioning, and irrigation—to ensure the garden would not only thrive but endure through Victoria’s shifting seasons.

A winding gravel path meanders through a shaded woodland garden, bordered by lush green foliage and understory plants. Tall eucalyptus trees with peeling bark and hanging leaves create a natural canopy, filtering soft light onto the forest floor and leading the eye toward a distant clearing.

Each of the three garden levels serves a distinct purpose.

Broad lawns offer a generous canvas for relaxation and recreation, while densely planted perennial beds add layers of movement, color, and texture.

The plant palette strikes a thoughtful balance between climate resilience and ornamental appeal, favoring dynamic, long-lasting compositions that shift and flourish with the seasons.

Carefully composed visual connections guide the eye across the landscape, while subtle shifts in scale and proportion create a sense of rhythm and balance.

Every element, from the placement of planting beds to the articulation of edges, contributes to an immersive and elevated outdoor experience.
