The backyard, which is a testament to the homeowners’ passion for gathering with friends and family, is a relatively compact space and the design maximizes its potential by centering on an inviting outdoor fireplace.

The fireplace, which is wrapped with sleek built-in seating made with durable, weather-resistant materials, acts as the heart of the backyard and a space to gather around year round.

Whether hosting a lively summer barbecue or enjoying a quiet winter evening, this main area in the backyard seamlessly adapts to every season and occasion.

These elements, carefully curated and skillfully integrated, create a cohesive design that complements the architecture of this newly built home, ensuring a refined yet relaxed atmosphere perfect for modern coastal living.

To create a seamless extension for the homeowners to entertain guests, Outside In creates a covered space with a breeze-block wall contains an outdoor grill with dining area.

To create a seamless extension for the homeowners to entertain guests, a covered space with a breeze-block wall contains an outdoor grill with dining area.

This architectural element not only introduces a striking visual texture but also allows natural light to filter through its intricate patterns, casting dynamic shadows that change throughout the day.

The breeze block wall provides a dual role as a design feature, creating a functional partition that provides both privacy and openness, fostering an inviting atmosphere.

This multifunctional space is a testament to how thoughtful design can transform even smaller backyards into vibrant, welcoming retreats.

By maximizing every inch of available space and incorporating elements that serve both practical and aesthetic purposes, the design achieves a perfect balance of performance and beauty.

These hardy and sustainable plantings not only enhance the natural aesthetics of the space but also contribute to a more environmentally friendly design by supporting local ecosystems and conserving water.

To elevate the ambiance, soft, strategically placed lighting has been integrated into the seating areas and around the fireplace.

The front yard presented a unique challenge due to its uneven levels, said Denise – the owner and Principle Designer at Outside In.

Rather than seeing this as a limitation, Outside In transformed this challenge into an opportunity to create a visually striking entrance.

The solution was an angled deck walkway leading to the front door, offering a practical and aesthetically pleasing path that blends effortlessly with the home’s coastal style.

The deck, crafted from sustainably sourced timber, follows the natural contours of the land, reducing the need for extensive grading. Its angled design adds visual interest and creates a seamless connection between the parking area and the home’s entrance.

To further enhance the functionality of the overall property, the front yard includes a space for guest parking using concrete turf pavers.

These eco-friendly pavers allow grass to grow through, softening the hardscape and maintaining the natural feel of the property.

This practical solution combines sustainability with beauty, welcoming guests with a green and inviting first impression.
