About The Landscape Library

A Platform Dedicated to Residential Landscape Architecture

The Landscape Library is a media platform dedicated to residential landscape architecture and outdoor living. Through project features and design-focused articles, the platform explores how landscape, planting, materials, and site conditions shape the experience of outdoor space.

While architecture and interiors are widely documented, the landscapes that frame everyday life — gardens, courtyards, terraces, and outdoor environments — often receive less focused coverage. The Landscape Library was created to bring greater visibility to the landscapes that define how homes connect to climate, site, and the natural environment.

The platform features projects from landscape architects, architects, and designers working across a range of climates and regions. Together, these works form a growing archive of contemporary residential landscape design.

Editorial Focus

The Landscape Library publishes projects and articles that examine landscape design through an architectural and environmental lens.

Coverage emphasizes the relationship between site, planting, materials, and architecture, highlighting how outdoor environments are shaped through thoughtful design decisions.

Rather than focusing solely on aesthetics, the platform explores the ideas and conditions that shape landscapes — climate, topography, ecology, and the evolving role of outdoor space within residential design.

A Resource for Designers and Homeowners

In addition to project features, The Landscape Library publishes articles that help readers better understand the discipline of landscape architecture.

Topics range from planting knowledge and garden design to materials, digital tools, and emerging technologies used by landscape professionals.

The platform serves a growing audience of landscape architects, designers, architects, and homeowners interested in thoughtful outdoor environments.

Over time, The Landscape Library has expanded into a broader resource for the landscape design community through educational courses and tools that support both emerging and established designers.

Founding Story

Landscape architecture is underrepresented in design media despite shaping how outdoor spaces are experienced.

While architecture and interiors are widely published, the landscapes that define how homes engage with climate, site, and the natural environment often receive less focused attention.

The Landscape Library was created to address this gap by documenting residential landscape architecture and exploring the ideas, materials, and planting strategies that shape contemporary outdoor spaces.

The platform was founded by designer Jordan Felber, whose background spans both architecture and landscape design. Jordan previously worked as a designer at Bjarke Ingels Group in New York and continues to practice independently on select residential landscape projects across different regions.

His writing and commentary on landscape design have been recognized by publications including Medium, where he has been described as a thought leader in the field.

Today, The Landscape Library serves a growing audience of landscape professionals, designers, and homeowners interested in thoughtful outdoor environments.
