Located in East Hampton, NY on a 2-acre site, LaGuardia Design Group connects a series of traditional modern homes with a pastoral native landscape and open lawn spaces.
Carved out from the surrounding woodlands, this family retreat estate is fused with elegance, which melds historical and contemporary elements.

With careful planning and execution, the architects, Architecture Outfit, created a strategic plan to relocate a century-old farmhouse, prioritizing its visual impact from the roadway and the preservation of its timber frame.
Throughout the property, a modern main residence, a pool house, and carefully designed landscapes were then integrated around this heritage structure.

The placement of the farmhouse at the site’s edge allows the new, functionally arranged buildings to radiate from a central axis, creating a harmonious blend of spaces both inside and out.

The heart of the residence, the central living space, acts as a gateway from the structured, manicured northern lawn to the relaxed, natural southern garden.
The use of expansive glass walls blurs the boundary between indoors and out, offering intentional views of the verdant surroundings.

The kitchen is strategically placed near outdoor dining amenities and a vegetable garden, basking in the morning sunlight, while a recessed lounge offers a unique vantage point at the level of the surrounding perennial flora.

Sustainability is at the core of this estate, with all structures benefiting from a geothermal well and incorporating energy-efficient systems and robust construction to weather coastal storms.
The property’s landscaping features native plants, enhancing the local environment and maintaining the area’s agrarian charm.

LaGuardia Design Group is dedicated to blending the realms of architecture and landscape by employing the principles of artistic design and environmental science.
Their approach involves skillful grading, utilizing native plantings, and seamlessly integrating structures with the natural undulations of the environment, making the boundary between built and natural elements indistinct.
